The Black Swan | OOTD

Natalie Portman danced as the seductive, devious and enchanting black swan in the move ‘Black Swan’. As a lover of dance, I instantly fell in love with her twisted character and especially her darker side. For a class party in school, we were asked to dress up as any movie character, and I thought the Black Swan was perfect. The look is beautiful and at the same time terrifying.

My Look

A huge THANK YOU to my generous friend Amritha for lending me this gorgeous black lace crop-top that was a crucial element in my costume.

I’m wearing a black lace crop-top from Forever 21, a tulle skirt that I got stitched and a black skater skirt from Forever 21 underneath.

For the eyes, I kept it simple, using Maybelline’s Lasting Drama Swirl Eyeliner in Black and Silver and Lakme’s Absolute Precision Liquid Liner in black  to draw on a winged eye and feather it out. I didn’t want to go all out with an intricate design because it was a class party after all. Topped off with the Maybelline’s The Collossal Volum Express Mascara, the eyes are complete. I went for a red lip and darkened and intensified it with some black eye-shadow in the corners(which you can’t see in the picture, I wiped it off). I added a tiara that I painted charcoal black.IMG_1010

Shoes & Accessories

My glittery peep-toe pumps from Rosso add some much-needed glam to this outfit. I carried along with me some simple black ballerina flats as well, which I could slip on when my feet got tired.

Instead of painting my hands with the feather design that match the eyes, I wore these ABSOLUTELY STUNNING black lace & sequined gloves from Forever New.
