WHICH FRAGRANCE DO YOU CHOOSE THIS MONSOON?

The monsoon makes me feel like sticking to the basics, the comfort zones. But a little experimenting here and there can do wonders. Evoke earthy days and petrichor by playing around with earth scents, musky aroma and warm amber bases, or call on the fragrance of the rain- it’s really your choice!

To make it simpler, here are the top five fragrances we’ve got picked out for this season-

CKIN2U BY CALVIN KLEIN

A fresh floral scent with an earthy, woody base- this should be your go-to fragrance for rainy nights out. With a base of amber, red cedar and vanilla, there’s an interesting duet of sugar orchid and white cactus.

AQUA KISS BY VICTORIA’S SECRET

This is definitely one of my personal favourites. A mainly floral scent, the body mist (or perfume) features chamomile mixed with fresh freesia and, plum blossom and sea notes.

BRIGHT CRYSTAL BY VERSACE

Laced with gourmand nuances, the most prominent notes are pomegranates and fresh lotus, with an amber base. A one-time investment, Bright Crystal is definitely a good pick for this monsoon.

COOL WATER WOMAN BY DAVIDOFF

The title says it all- invoking aquatic breezes and the sea, Cool Water is calming with top notes of citrus and flowers. Base notes of musk, vanilla and peach, among others, have been used to tone down the floral vibe.

ENGLISH LAVENDER BY YARDLEY

Not only is this a tad more affordable than the others, English Lavender simply evokes the fresh smell of a sprig of lavender, rosemary, and bergamot to brighten your dull and dreary monsoon days. Base notes are mainly musk and oak moss.
